The Surrealist Ideal.

Nom.
Certainly not his first and hopefully not his last, Erik Madigan Heck's third collaboration with Queen of prints Mary Katrantzou sees the renowned photographer and founder of the high-end cultural magazine Nomenus Quarterly, take his latest collaboration "The Surrealist Ideal" to a new and exciting level, pushing the boundaries between fashion and art once again.
Heck describes his latest work as being "pushed a little further in concept and form" compared to his previous two collaborations "Surrealist Planes" and "Florals" where he wanted his subjects to exist in an "other worldly realm, that wasn't confined to a physical reality". His title is in reference to the Surrealist ideals taken from well known surrealist painters such as Dali and Breton, who it is clear that Heck has been undoubtedly influenced by.
I am enraptured by Heck's brilliant use of mixed media and composition to create these extraordinary pieces that serve well in their role of accentuating Katrantzou's glorious prints, and am dreaming of the perfect exposed brick wall to perch one and dreamily stare at all day long. (I also wouldn't mind dreamily staring at the American Lothario himself either...)

Blue Jeans.

As you may have noticed, I kind of have a slight obsession with strappy heels at the moment. Only a teeny, weeny one though, so it's ok. The thing is, with this type of shoe, if you don't live in a big city with lots of fashionistas running around, you kind of stick out like a sore thumb. I know that if I wore this sort of shoe out on a daily basis, I would certainly get some looks thrown my way. So how can I dress them down a bit? Boyfriend jeans of course! A ripped pair would be even better. I saw this look a lot during lfw, especially with a big utility jacket thrown over the top. However, I am currently fooling myself that it's Summer since those three REALLY good days of sun two weeks ago, so I'm going to pair mine with a pretty feminine shirt from Equipment.

Yellow, snake print and a silver heel all in one! To die for.

Rustie - Surph feat. Nightwave

I can't get enough of this song. It's the only thing keeping me from going insane over my revision right now. Hope you like :)
