How To: Dress for snow.

So yes, it has got that cold again in England that we have been forecast more snow. No offense snow, but you're kind of getting a bit over-rated now. I don't know about anyone else, but all I'm dreaming of is sandals and sunglasses! However, good weather also equals the summer, and the summer is when my final uni exams are...eeek! Anyway, this would be my outfit for a snowy day :)

Bear Hat.

This Saturday I wandered into Leamington's town centre in search of a big fat English breakfast and to look around the shops. I was specifically looking for some polka dot navy blue trousers for the summer which I spotted a couple of days go in House of Fraser. I imagined in my head that they would be 'a la Riviera'. However, tried on, I looked like a plonker. Yesterday was absolutely freezing here, hence the silly hat!

How to: Dress down coloured skinnies.

With this colour of jeans it's hard not to go for the 'grunge' look whether dressed up or down. I wear my pair with my favourite ankle boots and a leather jacket for the day and then just swap them for a beige or black pair of heels for the evening. They are so versatile. Right now I'm looking for an ear cuff to wear with them (these ones from Mr Kate's online shop are perfect). I know the Isabel Marant sneakers are the 'ones to be seen' in this season, but I'm going to go against the fash-pack and say that I much prefer these Ash ones. Oh, cheeky...

How to: Dress up coloured skinnies

Coloured skinnies were seen everywhere this winter, with probably some of the most popular colour choices being maroon, jade and electric blue. This trend is such a great one to be taken from winter to spring as it's so versatile. I can't wait to try out the new spring/summer 2012 colours! I have my eye on a mint green pair (already featured here) from Topshop and a pale pink pair from River Island (found here). Anway, seeing as the weather has taken a turn for the worse again, I thought I'd stick to the deep jade green of winter for now. xx

How To: Smart Casual.

When trying to build up an outfit, I always find it easier to pick one piece that you really want to wear and then pick eveything else to go with it. In todays case, I chose these pretty pink trousers from Reiss as my starting off piece, and then decided to let the shirt and shoes compliment the trousers and the accessories to contrast, all in all making the outfit more interesting to the eyes.

Snake print.

There is no better way of injecting some snake print into your outfit than a clutch bag (Complete with a jaguar clasp. Ooooo). I found this bad boy for a mere £12.50 in the Accessorize sale ;) Outfit post soon to come xx

Somebody that I used to know

This is such a beautiful song by Gotye (featuring Kimbra). It has some serious Phil Collins vibes going on. Please let there be an 80's music revival!!! (The song really gets going about half way, so if you are fed up by then, strive on, it gets AMAZING.)

Golden Globes: Best Dressed

Ok so I have no idea who this lovely lady is (a Miss Shailene Woodley), but she definately had the best dress by far! Pale hues, draped chiffon and sparkles = perfection. Marchesa, you've done it again.

Inspiration: Spearmint

Came across this B.E.A.U.tiful outfit this evening. It is perfect for this spring's pastel trend. I would never have thought of putting a mint green top with mint green jeans, but with her tan and long blonde hair it looks effortlessly cool. Not sure my pale skin could pull of this shade, but I'd like to try my own pastel combo leading up to spring. Jessica's blog 'Tuula' is definately one to follow.

Kaleidoscope.

This Sunday I woke up late and then went to Bistro Pierre for maple syrup pancakes and croissants. Nom. On reflection this was probably not the best idea to do my first outfit post today in a lyrca pencil skirt...
